Chip Seal
How chip seal works
Chip seal starts with a firm, graded base. We spray a coat of hot liquid asphalt over it, spread clean stone chips on top and roll them in. As it sets, the asphalt grabs the rock and seals the surface.
It looks like a gravel road but holds together like a paved one. That makes it a smart pick for long country drives, farm and ranch roads and RV parks, where hot mix on every foot would cost more than the job needs.

Problems it fixes
What chip seal fixes
Gravel that washes away
Loose rock ends up in the ditch after every storm. Chip seal locks the stone in place.
Dust on everything
Long gravel drives throw dust on the house, the cars and the garden. A sealed surface keeps it down.
Washboard and ruts
Gravel roads wear into bumps and grooves. Chip seal gives you a firm, even top.
Long drives that cost too much to pave
Hot mix on a quarter mile lane adds up fast. Chip seal covers the distance for less.
Benefits
Why choose chip seal

Seals the base
The asphalt layer keeps water from soaking into the road below.
Dust stays down
No more clouds of dust every time a truck goes by.
A country look
It keeps the natural stone look that fits farms and rural homes.
Made for long runs
Ideal for farm lanes, ranch roads and RV park loops that stretch a long way.

FAQ
Chip Seal questions
Still have questions? Call (816) 375-1940. We pick up.
What is the difference between chip seal and asphalt?+
Asphalt is a hot mix spread and rolled into a smooth surface. Chip seal is liquid asphalt sprayed on a base with stone chips rolled into it. Chip seal has more texture and usually costs less.
Can you chip seal over my gravel road?+
If the gravel base is solid and drains well, it can often be chip sealed. We check the base at the free on-site estimate and tell you what it needs.
Is chip seal good for an RV park?+
Yes. It handles big rigs on loops and pads, keeps the dust down for guests and covers a large area for less than hot mix.
Will loose chips come up at first?+
Some extra stone can show up on top in the first days while the surface sets. That is normal, and we will tell you what to expect for your job.
